Clift A. Seferlis, a native Washingtonian, has been a licensed tour guide since 1999, but already had been leading tours throughout the city for many years prior to that. He serves as both a city step-on guide and a private guide for hire, and has led groups from schools, special-interest clientele, private clubs and organizations, senior citizens, and families with small children.

When he is not leading tours Clift is engaged in stone restoration work on the exterior of the Smithsonian Castle on the National Mall. He volunteers at the Washington National Cathedral as the assistant manager of the Cathedral's Art Information System Program, a database of all the building's art and architectural treasures.

Clift also brings his uniquely trained eye to architectural photography. His works have been exhibited in New York City, Washington, D.C., and elsewhere, with many pieces gracing private collections. His images have been commissioned for corporate use and for publication in books and magazines. In 2007, Johns Hopkins University Press will publish an updated version of the 1974 landmark work "The Outdoor Sculpture of Washington, D.C.", on which Clift is collaborating with local historian James M. Goode.

Clift has been a member of the Washington, D.C. Guild of Professional Tour Guides since 2002, and in 2005 obtained a Tour Guide operator's license for New York City. He also serves on the Board of the Latrobe Chapter of the Society of Architectural Historians, and has been a member of the Guild of Professional Stone Carvers since 2000.
